The Department of Trade and Industry – Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB) seized 135 units of uncertified products worth Php 10,560.00 during its focused enforcement operation in Manila City, on 16 May 2023.
FTEB Director Atty. Fhillip D. Sawali and FTEB Enforcement and Product Standards Monitoring Division Chief Ms. Perpetua Werlina R. Lim led the inspection of consumer products sold by 24 retail firms in Manila.
Among the seized products are Edison screw lamp holders, plugs, extension cord sets, uPVC rigid electrical conduit, and deformed steel bars. The team also conducted a “test-buy” operation to further investigation.
The DTI urges consumers to report violators through the Consumer Care Hotline at DTI (1-384) or consumercare@dti.gov.ph.
