The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) submitted its proposed Rationalization Plan (RatPlan) to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) pursuant to Executive Order 366 dated October 04, 2004. The DTI RatPlan was approved on October 13, 2013 which marked the creation of the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB).

DTI-FTEB celebrated its 10th year anniversary with a year of increased productivity and performance—forging transformations and exceeding boundaries.
The DTI launched Task Force Kalasag, an enhanced nationwide enforcement initiative, led by the FTEB to intensify market monitoring, protect consumers, and ensure product compliance with technical regulations and fair trade laws all across the country.
The DTI, through FTEB, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to tap the latter’s investigative and technical expertise for fair trade compliance and consumer welfare initiatives.
Online Monitoring Units (OMUs) further strengthened the comprehensive and proactive approach to not only a nationwide scope, but also virtual.
2025
The DTI intensified price monitoring of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) nationwide through closer coordination with the Department of Agriculture (DA), while strengthening its leadership role as the National Price Coordinating Council (NPCC).
The IRegIS was officially launched nationwide, with the FTEB leading the onboarding and training of regional and provincial system users to support efficient, client-focused service delivery in line with the Ease of Doing Business.
