The Department of Trade and Industry – Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB) seized 534 units of prohibited vaporized nicotine and non-nicotine products, and novel tobacco products worth Php 211,250.00 during its focused enforcement operation in Manila City, on 19 May 2023.

FTEB Director Atty. Fhillip D. Sawali and FTEB Enforcement and Product Standards Monitoring Division Chief Ms. Perpetua Werlina R. Lim led the inspection of three (3) vape shops.

On top, the team also inspected consumer products sold by six (6) retail firms which resulted in the sealing of uncertified self-ballasted lamps.

Out of the nine (9) retail firms that have undergone inspection, four (4) were found non-conforming and were issued with a Notice of Violation (NOV), requiring them to submit a written explanation within 48 hours from receipt of the NOV.
