DTI-FTEB tightens monitoring and enforcement on vape and other uncertified products

The Department of Trade and Industry-Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (DTI-FTEB) ensured that businesses comply with trade and industry laws, following its ramped-up surveillance, monitoring, and enforcement activities on uncertified products in 2023. The Bureau monitored 3,718 firms in compliance with the Price Act. DTI suspends sale of Flava Vape products to protect consumers and enforce Vape Law

Makati City–The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB), orders the suspension of the sale, manufacturing, import, and distribution of Flava Corporation’s vape products on March 15. DTI-FTEB’s permit processing records zero backlogs, 95.52% client satisfaction rating

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB), reported on 14 March 2024 that the it has achieved zero backlogs and processed a total of 40,273 DTI permits, licenses, and accreditation applications in 2023. Of the total applications processed, 26,539 (66%) were Sales Promotion Permits, 11,903 (30%) were Certificates of Authority to Import (CAIs) and Accreditation, and 1,831 (4%) were Business Licensing and Accreditation-related licenses and certificates. The Fair-Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) continues to provide fair and efficient redress to consumers in adherence to Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 13-02, Series of 2013, the resolution of complaints within the jurisdiction of the DTI.
